James, a talented young man, returns home to a small, conservative town after spending time in conversion therapy imposed by his father. His family, especially his father Richard, hopes he has "overcome" his homosexuality and is now leading a life in accordance with traditional norms. However, James remains deeply confused about his identity and what he truly wants for his future.
Upon his return, James reunites with Charlie, his former love, who has never hidden his orientation and has learned to live more authentically in this hostile environment. The connection between them remains intact, and despite the distance that separated them, attraction and affection resurface strongly.
